Event Sales Manager

About the role

The Event Sales Manager will drive room and catering revenue by securing bookings across leisure and corporate segments for Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort. You will act as the primary liaison for customer inquiries, align client needs with our product offering, and actively upsell to maximise property revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Create awareness of the hotel’s meeting and banqueting facilities.
• Implement brand standards throughout all sales processes.
• Shift market share from competitors, focusing on group segments.
• Analyse market trends, competitor strengths, and economic factors to position offers effectively.
• Close business opportunities that best meet property needs using negotiation and creative selling.
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to generate future bookings.
• Conduct day‑to‑day sales activities: lead generation, account management, face‑to‑face meetings, contracting & rate negotiation, site inspections, trade‑show participation, client entertainment, and sales trips.
• Support in‑house marketing initiatives, familiarisation trips, client hospitality events, presentations and promotional activities.
• Produce detailed sales reports and transfer accurate information to operating departments.
• Resolve guest issues arising from the sales process and collaborate with property leadership.
• Participate in guest‑satisfaction review sessions and propose improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum three years of sales experience with a reputable international hotel chain.
• Proven experience handling top‑producing accounts and group/catering business opportunities.
• Excellent selling skills with a strong understanding of sales processes and the ability to upsell products and services.
