Equipment Mate – Operations & Maintenance Support

About the role

The Equipment Mate supports daily operations and maintenance of heavy equipment on construction and quarry sites. You will ensure equipment is ready for use, assist fitters and operators, and help maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑start inspections, checking fluid levels, tyre tension, leaks and abnormal noises.
• Perform routine servicing such as air‑filter cleaning and lubrication according to charts.
• Assist with material handling, equipment positioning, rigging and the installation or dismantling of gearboxes, drive shafts, bearings, belt drives and couplings.
• Monitor equipment deployment, record hour‑meter readings and fuel consumption, and generate defect reports.
• Execute weekly wash‑downs, under‑carriage cleaning and spare‑parts inventory checks.
• Support planned preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and provide breakdown assistance.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar equipment‑maintenance role.
• Ability to work on rotating and stationary machinery and follow HSE regulations.
