Enterprise Integration Engineer

About the role

Flutterwave's Enterprise Integration Engineer delivers the technical onboarding of enterprise merchants such as payment service providers, remittance companies and global brands. These are custom integrations built directly on Flutterwave's APIs. You are the merchant's technical lead from the kick-off call until their payments are stable, working with Sales, Product, Engineering and Compliance. The role sits between Sales and Engineering and is a step on Flutterwave's Integrations career path.

Key responsibilities

• Run each integration from start to finish, aiming to shorten the time from contract signed to first live transaction (team target median of 24 days)
• Scope the work, run technical kick-off calls and recommend the right setup (direct API integration or hosted checkout)
• Test integrations in the test environment before live keys, including 3DS card payments, mobile money, webhook signatures and pending payments
• Handle go-live checks: business verification (KYB) and a daily system check, fixing issues raised in Jira tickets
• Write clear ticket notes, talk with merchants on Slack or email, and hand over to the Technical Account Manager once the merchant is stable
• Guide merchant developers on Flutterwave's REST APIs, including card tokenisation, recurring and split payments
• Debug failures by reading API requests/responses and logs, and ensure merchants confirm payments server-to-server
• Raise blockers in Jira, support live incidents with severity levels, track payment success rates and fix documentation gaps

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• 4-9 years of experience in Integration Engineering, Implementation Engineering or similar
• Able to run several high-value projects at once, keep to timelines and hold people accountable
• Clear writing and speaking, able to explain complex technical limits to non-technical people

Required skills

• Reading and debugging REST API requests and responses in JSON
• Using Postman to send test requests and find errors
• Reading code in JavaScript, Python or PHP
• Using Jira or a similar tool
