About the role

The Canon James Pearse Anglican College is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join its boarding school community in Lagos. This full‑time position involves delivering engaging English lessons to secondary students and contributing to the school’s academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.
• Implement the school’s English curriculum and adapt materials as needed.
• Assess student performance through tests, assignments and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and other documentation.
• Manage classroom behavior and uphold discipline standards.
• Mentor and support students academically and personally.
• Utilise teaching aids and technology to enhance learning.
• Participate in professional development and collaborative staff activities.
• Promote the school’s Christian values and community spirit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• TRCN registration is an advantage.
• Experience teaching in a school or boarding environment is desirable.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Good character and willingness to work in a Christian missionary boarding school setting.
