Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead engineering activities across multiple oil and gas projects for a leading Nigerian engineering and construction firm. Reporting to senior management, you will provide strategic and technical direction, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive engineering excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical guidance and career development.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation; conduct design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and other safety studies.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and QA/QC processes; monitor risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals, bid evaluations, and cost estimates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil & gas sector, including at least 10 years in an engineering management or similar leadership role.
• Proven experience with FEED, EPC and EPCM project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety studies and QA/QC procedures.
