About the role
The Elementary Paraprofessional supports classroom teachers in delivering instruction to early childhood and kindergarten students. Working closely with the teacher, the paraprofessional helps individual pupils or small groups reach the expected skill levels for the class.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the teacher with daily instructional activities.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher.
- Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
Required profile
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds regularly.
- Quick response to auditory cues.
- Comfort moving safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Capability to recognize and react to potentially dangerous situations.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders safely.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
