Electrical Engineer – Critical Power & UPS Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, installation and commissioning of critical power systems for our data‑center and telecommunications facilities in Abuja. The role focuses on ensuring reliable power supply through UPS, generator and distribution network management.

Key responsibilities

• Assess electrical loads and define power‑distribution requirements for IT equipment.
• Install, commission and maintain online UPS systems (≥20 kVA), protected distribution and maintenance bypass arrangements.
• Verify cable sizing, circuit protection, surge protection, earthing, bonding and phase balance.
• Coordinate interfaces with utility supplies, generators and other approved power sources.
• Test battery autonomy, alarms, bypass operation, overload response and controlled shutdown procedures.
• Collaborate on electrical and cooling requirements, diagnose faults and support planned maintenance.
• Maintain commissioning records, electrical documentation, maintenance schedules and escalation procedures.

Required profile

• Degree or recognised professional qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial or critical‑power engineering experience.
• Proven commissioning experience with online UPS systems of 20 kVA or greater.
• Experience supporting server rooms, data centres, telecommunications facilities or comparable critical installations.
