Elderly Caregiver

About the role

H-Ville Consultancy is hiring a caregiver in Ebonyi to provide daily care and support to an elderly woman, ensuring her comfort, safety and well-being. The role covers personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, companionship and light household tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting as needed
• Help with mobility and walking, keeping the client safe and preventing falls
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
• Remind the client to take prescribed medication according to the family's instructions and schedule
• Monitor the client's well-being and report any unusual changes to the family
• Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation and daily interaction
• Keep the client's immediate surroundings clean, safe and comfortable
• Assist with light household duties related to the client's care
• Accompany the client to medical appointments when required
• Treat the client with dignity, patience, respect and confidentiality

Required profile

• Previous experience caring for elderly people is an advantage
• Compassionate, patient, kind, trustworthy, honest, reliable, respectful and emotionally mature
• Willingness to work in Ebonyi State
• Relevant caregiving training or certification is an added advantage

Required skills

• Ability to assist with personal hygiene and daily living activities
• Physically capable of supporting the client with mobility where necessary
• Good observation skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of elderly care, hygiene and safety
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to follow instructions and report concerns promptly
