DST Operations Engineer (Resident)

About the role

We are looking for a resident DST Operations Engineer to lead deep‑water drill stem testing and surface well testing projects from our Lagos office. The role combines technical planning, on‑site supervision and coordination with service companies to ensure safe, efficient and cost‑effective execution of multimillion‑dollar DST programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, procure and prepare equipment for deep‑water DST and surface well testing operations.
• Develop DST programmes, including operation sequences, risk assessments and contingency plans.
• Provide technical support to drilling superintendents and site personnel, ensuring procedures and Management of Change (MOC) are applied.
• Lead CWOP and risk‑assessment sessions and oversee service‑company equipment preparation.
• Conduct rig‑site visits for equipment intake, rig‑up and act as on‑site supervisor when required.
• Capture lessons learned, maintain KPI and service‑quality databases, and drive continuous‑improvement actions.
• Participate in contractor safety and quality audits and ensure accurate WELLVIEW DDR entries.
• Monitor DST spend against budget and ensure sufficient funding for projects.

Required profile

• HND or BSc in an engineering discipline.
• More than 10 years of deep‑water DST experience.
• IWCF certification and compliance with company safety and training matrices.
• Resident office‑based position in Lagos with regular well‑site visits.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, cross‑functional team.
