Drone Pilot

About the role

Geoinfotech Resources Limited is seeking a skilled Drone Pilot to support land surveying, mapping and aerial data collection projects in Abuja. The role involves planning and executing UAV missions, capturing high-resolution imagery and delivering geospatial products that meet the accuracy standards of our engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct drone flights using waypoints and automated flight plans for surveying and mapping tasks.
• Perform pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight checks to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Capture high-resolution images and sensor data for orthomosaic maps, 3D models and terrain analysis.
• Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to verify data accuracy and project requirements.
• Monitor weather conditions and assess site risks before each flight.
• Maintain drones, batteries and accessories in optimal condition.
• Process, organize and submit collected data using geospatial software.
• Keep detailed flight logs, reports and project documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating drones for surveying, mapping or geospatial data collection.
• NCAA Remote Pilot Certification or equivalent commercial drone authorization in Nigeria.
• Strong understanding of flight operations, safety protocols and airspace regulations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied environmental conditions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pix4D, DroneDeploy, Agisoft, ArcGIS or AutoCAD for geospatial processing.
• Experience in topographic surveys, land mapping and geospatial data workflows.
• Knowledge of UAV hardware maintenance and battery management.
