Driver – Transportation Services

About the role

The Driver will provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for FHI 360 UK‑Nigeria staff, consultants, visitors, equipment and program materials within Abuja and surrounding areas. Reporting to the Operations Business Manager, the role supports official movements between the country office, partner sites, government institutions, airports, hotels and other approved locations while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑ and post‑use vehicle inspections and report any defects immediately.
• Maintain accurate mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance logs and submit monthly reports.
• Ensure all journeys are authorized, recorded in the logbook, and that vehicle documents and keys are securely stored when not in use.
• Enforce seat‑belt use, comply with speed limits and fleet policies, and report all incidents or near‑misses promptly.
• Support logistics and warehouse assistants as needed and follow security protocols.

Required profile

• Ability to respond to emergency call‑outs and transport staff, equipment and materials safely.
• Commitment to visibility and security protocols at all times.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness both inside and out on a daily basis.
• Capability to diagnose vehicle faults and perform minor repairs.
• Willingness to provide basic logistics support when required.
