Director of Business Development

About the role

ProtocolClear is seeking a Director of Business Development to originate new client relationships and secure engagements with senior executives at regulated institutions in Nigeria. You will act as the primary hunter, opening doors, building C‑level trust, qualifying opportunities, pricing for healthy margins, and driving deals to signature.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a named‑account origination strategy targeting a defined list of Nigerian regulated institutions.
• Identify and engage senior decision‑makers, qualify real opportunities, and develop proposals that meet margin targets.
• Maintain impeccable CRM hygiene, keep forecasts accurate, and ensure disciplined margin discipline.
• Collaborate closely with the founder, who co‑closes deals and leads delivery, allowing you to focus on pipeline generation.
• Measure performance against clear monthly metrics: qualified meetings, proposals issued, pipeline value, and profitable signed business.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level business development experience, preferably selling to C‑level executives in regulated sectors.
• Outcome‑focused mindset with a track record of delivering profitable pipelines from day one.
• Comfortable working in a performance‑based compensation model tied to monthly profit outcomes.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to operate independently.
