Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

About the role

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer will join a mission‑driven health centre in Ikorodu, providing high‑quality ultrasound examinations to support early detection and preventive care. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering accurate diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform abdominal, pelvic, obstetric and other ultrasound examinations in line with established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients, operate ultrasound equipment, and capture diagnostic images.
• Document findings accurately for physician review.
• Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, adhering to safety and infection‑control standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to facilitate timely diagnosis.
• Participate in quality‑improvement activities and provide clear communication to patients and colleagues.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related qualification.
• Strong foundational knowledge of ultrasound imaging principles.
• Experience with vascular ultrasound procedures, including assessment of peripheral and major vessels.
• Prior experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre, or preventive health setting is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage a steady clinical workload.
