Developer Portal & Community Manager

About the role

This position is focused on managing the Developer Portal and community for a highly technical open‑hardware product. Based in Nigeria, you will act as the bridge between engineering teams and a global developer audience, ensuring documentation is clear, up‑to‑date, and useful.

Key responsibilities

• Own, structure, and continuously improve the Developer Portal, keeping it accurate and easy to navigate.
• Translate internal engineering discussions, technical updates, and product changes into public documentation, guides, and README‑style content.
• Maintain and organize wiki pages, GitHub repositories, and other developer‑facing resources across multiple sub‑projects.
• Participate in engineering meetings to stay aligned with development work and product direction.
• Moderate community contributions, discussions, issues, and pull requests to ensure quality and constructive collaboration.
• Collect feedback from the developer community and relay insights back to internal teams.
• Help developers understand how to use the portal, contribute effectively, and engage with the ecosystem.

Required profile

• Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of software development workflows, including Git, branches, commits, and pull requests.
• Ability to break down complex technical concepts into simple, structured explanations.
• Comfortable working closely with engineers across hardware and software domains.
• Strong organizational mindset focused on clarity and information architecture.
• Genuine interest in developer tools, open‑source ecosystems, and transparent development cultures.
