Deposit Mobilization Officer

About the role

The Deposit Mobilization Officer will drive growth of the bank’s deposit portfolio by acquiring and managing relationships with individual, high‑net‑worth, SME, corporate and association clients. The role focuses on meeting liability generation targets while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect and acquire new deposit clients through cold‑calling, networking and referrals.
• Promote and sell liability products such as savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, investment notes and special schemes.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual deposit mobilization targets.
• Design and implement strategies to increase low‑cost deposits.
• Maintain long‑term client relationships by providing excellent service and timely communication on product features, rates and rollover options.
• Monitor market trends, competitor offerings and interest‑rate movements.
• Ensure all deposit activities comply with regulatory (e.g., CBN/BOG/CBK) and internal KYC/AML policies.

Required profile

• Minimum NCE/ND, HND or BSc qualification.
• 2‑3 years of experience in deposit mobilization or investment within the financial sector.
• Strong understanding of banking products and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KYC and AML procedures.
• Ability to analyze market trends and competitor products.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
