Dental Surgery Technologist

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is looking for a qualified Dental Surgery Technologist to join its Ibadan campus. This six‑month renewable position supports the dental team in delivering preventive and basic restorative care to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic dental procedures such as scaling and polishing.
• Provide preventive dental care and educate patients on oral hygiene.
• Prepare the operatory and ensure all instruments and materials are ready before each procedure.
• Assist the dentist using four‑handed dentistry techniques.
• Operate dental imaging equipment and maintain accurate patient records.
• Implement infection‑control and sterilisation protocols in line with medical standards.
• Monitor patient comfort during treatment and manage appointment scheduling.
• Maintain dental inventory and alert supervisors to supply needs.

Required profile

• HND in Dental Surgery Technology or Dental Technician.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in a structured organization.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism.
