Data Engineer – Remote

About the role

RocketDevs is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join its global network. This remote position will have you design, build, and operate data pipelines and scalable data systems for a variety of client projects, ranging from near‑real‑time analytics to large‑scale data warehouses.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build and optimise data warehouses on platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Implement streaming solutions using tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink.
• Integrate relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Collaborate with client teams to translate business requirements into robust data architectures.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and observability throughout the data lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong programming skills in Python or another data‑focused language (e.g., Scala, Java).
• Solid experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience building and operating production data pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation (Docker).
• Proven ability to document and explain a production data system architecture.
