Credit Officer

About the role

Champ Financial Solutions Limited is seeking a motivated Credit Officer to join its lending team in Kano. You will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, managing customer relationships, and ensuring timely loan disbursements while meeting portfolio targets.

Key responsibilities

• Source and onboard prospective customers.
• Assess loan applications and repayment capacity.
• Conduct customer interviews, verification, and field visits.
• Prepare credit appraisal and loan recommendation reports.
• Ensure proper documentation before loan disbursement.
• Monitor assigned loan accounts and repayment schedules.
• Follow up on overdue payments and support loan recovery.
• Maintain accurate customer and loan records.
• Build and maintain good relationships with customers.
• Achieve assigned loan disbursement, customer acquisition, and portfolio targets.
• Submit regular reports to management.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and credit guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum National Diploma (ND) or equivalent.
• Previous experience in credit, lending, micro‑finance, banking, sales or customer service is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of basic credit assessment and loan processes.
• Fluent in English and Hausa.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, numerical and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in the field, meet targets, and operate independently or as part of a team.
• Hardworking, responsible, honest and customer‑focused.
