Credit Officer

About the role

The Credit Officer will work on‑site in Uyo, evaluating and processing credit and loan applications for individuals and businesses. This full‑time position involves assessing creditworthiness, structuring facilities, and supporting the growth of Swaco's credit portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct creditworthiness assessments and analyse financial information.
• Review documentation, recommend credit limits and terms in line with company policies.
• Manage loan portfolios, track repayments and identify potential risks.
• Communicate credit decisions to clients and provide guidance on suitable financial solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in credit or lending roles within a financial institution or asset management firm.
• Strong ethical standards, integrity and customer‑focused service.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with basic financial software.
