About the role
Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is seeking an experienced Country Director to lead and represent its programme in Nigeria, with additional oversight of projects in Benin and Côte d’Ivoire. This senior leadership position is responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring effective programme delivery, and strengthening MAG’s presence and partnerships in‑country.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and representation for MAG in Nigeria and the wider region.
- Set and oversee the implementation of the country programme’s strategic, programmatic and operational priorities.
- Ensure safe, effective delivery of all programme activities in line with MAG policies, donor requirements and international standards.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programme outcomes.
- Strengthen partnerships with state agencies, communities and regional collaborators to address explosive ordnance and illicit small arms proliferation.
- Manage and coordinate smaller projects in Benin and Côte d’Ivoire.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or security‑related programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑country operations and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with explosive remnants of war, land‑mine clearance, or small‑arms and light‑weapons risk reduction.
- Accountability to a UK‑based headquarters and ability to represent the organisation internationally.
Required skills
What we offer
- Starting salary package of £64,928 GBP per annum (approximately $87,333 USD), inclusive of all allowances.
