Corporate Lawyer – In‑House Legal Counsel

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is seeking an experienced Company Lawyer to provide comprehensive legal support across corporate, commercial, employment and operational matters. You will act as the primary legal advisor, ensuring compliance with Nigerian laws and safeguarding the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, employment and operational issues.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, memoranda and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate governance requirements.
• Identify legal risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
• Represent the company in negotiations, mediations, dispute resolution and legal proceedings.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, government bodies, external counsel and other stakeholders.
• Handle company secretarial duties and corporate governance responsibilities.
• Review business transactions and provide legal opinions on proposed activities and partnerships.
• Manage litigation matters and coordinate strategies with external solicitors.
• Maintain legal records, licenses, permits and corporate documentation.
• Advise management on labor laws, employment issues and workplace compliance.
• Monitor legislative changes and regulatory updates affecting business operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
• Barrister‑at‑Law (B.L.) qualification and active membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
• Post‑call legal experience in corporate, commercial or business law (minimum 2 years).
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate, contract and labor law, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and judgment skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
