Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager (FMCG)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Manager to lead corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, ESG initiatives and reputation management for a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) company in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated corporate communications strategy across internal and external channels.
• Design and execute sustainability and ESG programmes aligned with business objectives and industry standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, NGOs, investors, communities and other key stakeholders.
• Lead reputation management and crisis communication, ensuring timely and effective responses.
• Monitor government policies, regulations and industry developments to support corporate advocacy.
• Oversee preparation of sustainability, ESG and corporate affairs reports in line with reporting standards.
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans that support business and sustainability priorities.
• Lead and mentor the Corporate Affairs & Sustainability team, driving performance and professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Management Sciences or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management position.
• Proven experience managing corporate communications, stakeholder relations and reputation management.
• Strong background in sustainability/ESG programmes, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience working with government/regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of the FMCG business environment and regulatory landscape.
• Excellent leadership, communication, strategic thinking and crisis‑management skills.
