Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator will oversee the daily operation of our feed production line, ensuring that raw ingredients are accurately weighed, mixed and processed according to strict nutritional formulas. Working in a fast‑paced environment, you will coordinate equipment, material handling and quality checks to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Operate computer‑controlled batching systems to weigh and mix raw ingredients per nutritional formulas.
• Manage and monitor production equipment including grinders, mixers, pellet mills, coolers and automated bagging/packing lines.
• Safely operate forklift, front‑end loader and other heavy equipment to move raw materials and finished products.
• Conduct routine quality control sampling of raw ingredients, in‑process material and finished feed for laboratory analysis.
• Execute receiving procedures for grain and ingredient shipments, probe trucks, assess quality and record data in the inventory system.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on mill equipment to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues, carry out minor repairs or escalate to the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA safety standards, FDA regulations and HACCP/SQF food‑safety plans.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in feed or industrial production.
• Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work in a shift‑based, on‑site environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
