Control Officer – Journey & Safety Management

About the role

The Control Officer will oversee journey and safety operations, ensuring efficient use of drivers, vehicles and resources while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor journey management activities to optimise driver, vehicle and resource utilisation.
• Schedule, track and analyse trips for timeliness, fuel efficiency and route adherence.
• Use GPS, telematics or dashboards to monitor real‑time journey performance.
• Identify and report deviations, delays or non‑compliance with procedures.
• Generate productivity reports covering trip time, fuel consumption and downtime.
• Recommend process improvements to boost operational productivity.
• Maintain accurate safety records, incidents, near‑misses and corrective actions.
• Develop and update safety and productivity dashboards for real‑time visibility.
• Track safety trends and risk indicators to support proactive risk management.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly control reports for management.
• Provide data‑driven insights to improve journey safety and productivity.
• Act as central contact for journey control and safety data coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in operations control, journey management, safety monitoring or data analysis.
• Experience with GPS tracking, telematics systems or dashboard/reporting tools is an advantage.
