Communications Officer – Multimedia

About the role

Our client, a dynamic non‑profit focused on gender equity and eliminating sexual and gender‑based violence in Nigerian tertiary institutions, is seeking a Communications Officer – Multimedia. The role will create compelling visual and audio content that showcases the organisation’s impact and supports advocacy, fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and produce multimedia content (photos, videos, graphics, animations) for social media, websites, campaigns, reports and events.
• Capture field footage and conduct interviews with beneficiaries, staff and stakeholders.
• Edit video and photo materials to professional standards with a strong narrative focus.
• Support digital campaigns by creating engaging multimedia assets.
• Collaborate with programme teams to translate field activities into compelling visuals.
• Train field staff on basic multimedia capture (photography and video).
• Maintain an organised digital asset library with proper metadata tagging and usage rights.
• Ensure consent and copyright compliance for all materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Communications, Graphic Design or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in communications, content creation, multimedia production or digital marketing, preferably within NGOs or social‑impact organisations.
• Excellent writing and storytelling ability for websites, reports, newsletters and campaigns.
• Strong understanding of branding, visual identity and audience engagement, especially for sensitive social‑issue content.
• Creative, proactive, detail‑oriented and passionate about digital storytelling for advocacy.
