Commercial Manager – Port & Logistics

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive growth across its Eastern Nigeria operations. You will join the Terminal Leadership Team, shaping commercial strategy, enhancing customer experience, and unlocking new business opportunities in a dynamic market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategies to increase volume, profitability and market share.
• Build strong relationships with shipping lines, cargo owners and key partners while improving Net Promoter Score.
• Lead pipeline development, win new business and maximise account performance.
• Monitor competition and market trends to identify new opportunities.
• Drive development of value‑added services and logistics solutions.
• Own commercial targets, forecasts and key performance indicators.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing commercial team.

Required profile

• Proven B2B commercial leadership experience, preferably in ports, shipping, logistics or infrastructure.
• Strong sales, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to operate in a matrix environment and influence senior stakeholders.
• Track record of driving growth and managing complex customer ecosystems.
• Strong analytical mindset with a data‑driven decision‑making approach.
• Experience in emerging markets; Africa exposure is a plus.
• Passion for building teams and developing people.
