Collections Officer

About the role

CredPal is seeking a motivated Collections Officer to manage overdue accounts and support debt recovery. You will engage with customers empathetically, negotiate repayment solutions, and help maintain the company’s financial stability while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers with overdue accounts to discuss payments and negotiate repayment terms.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, payment arrangements, and account statuses.
• Assess customers’ repayment ability, evaluate risk, and recommend appropriate collection strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes and answer inquiries.
• Monitor and follow up on agreed repayment plans to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and present reports on collection activities, trends, and outcomes.
• Continuously improve collection processes and stay updated on industry best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years proven experience in collections, credit control, or a similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy, patience, and resilience.
• Professionalism and integrity when handling sensitive customer information.
• Organizational ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks.
• Analytical mindset to assess accounts and recommend strategies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with collections software.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
