Classroom Assistant

About the role

The Classroom Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher and Teaching Assistant to create a safe, enriching learning environment for children at Teenee Todds Day Nursery. This role supports daily classroom activities, ensuring children’s basic needs are met while fostering curiosity and development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering a structured learning programme.
• Support children during toileting and diaper changes, following strict hygiene procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly indoor and outdoor classroom, including sanitising toys and equipment.
• Help organise and supervise mealtimes and snack times, encouraging self‑feeding milestones.
• Supervise play and nap periods, integrating play with instructional strategies.
• Engage with children through singing, dancing, and playful activities to promote social and emotional growth.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and willing to be active, “silly”, and supportive with young children.
• Committed to following all hygiene and safety procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
