Civil Engineer

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is hiring a full-time Civil Engineer based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The role covers planning, designing, supervising and executing civil engineering and construction projects, with coordination of contractors, site personnel and other engineering professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, supervise and execute civil engineering and construction projects
• Prepare, review and interpret engineering drawings, structural designs, technical specifications and project plans
• Conduct site inspections, surveys, feasibility assessments and structural evaluations
• Supervise construction to ensure compliance with approved designs, engineering standards and building regulations
• Monitor contractors, subcontractors, technicians and site personnel for quality workmanship and timely delivery
• Coordinate with architects, quantity surveyors, project managers and consultants
• Review materials, components and methods; prepare estimates, material specifications, work schedules and technical reports
• Monitor budgets, resources and progress; identify and resolve technical issues
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and carry out QA/QC inspections
• Maintain site records, progress and inspection reports, and guide junior engineers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution
• Valid COREN registration is mandatory
• Proven experience in civil engineering and construction project execution, including structural works, building construction or infrastructure
• Good understanding of project planning, site supervision, quality control and cost management
• NSE membership or similar professional body membership is an added advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or similar design software
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Knowledge of construction methods, structural principles, engineering standards and building regulations
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
