Civil Engineer

About the role

The Civil Engineer will work under the Project Manager to plan, design, execute and supervise civil and structural projects at the Ibese Plant and Estate. The role ensures that all civil works meet quality, safety and Dangote Group operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and deliver civil engineering projects within the plant and estate.
• Supervise civil and structural works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and HSE standards.
• Monitor site activities, provide technical guidance to contractors and project teams.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction methodologies.
• Conduct routine site inspections for quality control, safety compliance and schedule adherence.
• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and project schedules.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure timely, quality delivery.
• Oversee maintenance of infrastructure such as roads, drainage, buildings and foundations.
• Prepare progress reports, site documentation and project updates.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation measures and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with Legal, Procurement and HR for seamless project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
• COREN or NSE registration is an advantage.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of civil design, construction standards and project execution principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
• Good understanding of HSE practices and construction quality standards.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
