Child Protection Advisor

About the role

Terre des hommes (Tdh) Nigeria is looking for a motivated Child Protection Advisor to join its team in Borno State. The role focuses on providing technical leadership, strengthening programme quality, and supporting capacity development to safeguard children’s rights and well‑being across all interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of child protection activities, including CPiE and MHPSS components.
• Strengthen safeguarding systems and ensure compliance with organisational and donor standards.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to field staff and partners on child protection and related topics.
• Facilitate partnership engagement and coordinate with local authorities, NGOs and community groups.
• Contribute to programme planning, reporting and quality assurance processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in child protection, safeguarding, CPiE and MHPSS within humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of systems strengthening and partnership development.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multi‑disciplinary teams and in challenging environments.
