Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, results‑driven Chief Operating Officer to provide strategic and operational leadership for a fast‑growing construction company. The COO will oversee daily operations, ensure safe and on‑time project delivery, and support long‑term growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across construction projects, engineering, procurement and support functions.
• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and comply with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and monitor operational KPIs to improve efficiency, profitability and performance.
• Collaborate with the Managing Director/CEO and executive team on growth and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, budgeting and risk management.
• Maintain compliance with HSE, quality assurance and statutory regulations.
• Drive continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
• Build, mentor and lead high‑performing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strengthen relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, government agencies and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying or related field; MBA is a plus.
• 12–15 years of progressive construction experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
• Proven track record managing multiple large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong commercial, financial and business management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• High integrity, professionalism and strategic thinking.
