Chartered Accountant – Senior Finance Professional

About the role

The Finance team is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support risk and compliance activities across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable and general ledger entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and related supporting documentation.
• Oversee the Risk Management system and liaise with external bodies such as FIRS, BIRS and auditors.
• Process invoices, issue payments and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Monitor expense reports, track budget variances and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide documentation for external audits.
• Conduct ad‑hoc financial analysis, creating reports, charts and graphs for management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support departmental goals and ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA/MSc in Finance is a plus.
• Completed ACA, ACCA or CIMA certification (mandatory).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Proven staff management experience and ability to implement financial controls.
• High degree of IT literacy and in‑depth knowledge of corporate financial laws, risk management, governance and compliance.
