Cashier

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Cashier to join our retail team in Akure. You will be the first point of contact for customers at the checkout, handling transactions and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to customers at the checkout counter, scan and record items accurately.
• Receive cash, transfers, and other approved payments and issue receipts.
• Balance cash and transaction records at the end of each shift.
• Assist customers with enquiries, complaints, and provide friendly service.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Support shelf stocking and arrangement when needed.
• Track daily sales and expenses, and assist with stock ordering.
• Report any discrepancies or transaction issues to the supervisor or accountant.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE (advantageous) with at least 2 years of cashier or retail experience.
• Strong numerical and basic calculation abilities.
• Honest, trustworthy, detail‑oriented and professional demeanor.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑friendly attitude.
• Must reside in Akure.

Required skills

• POS (point‑of‑sale) system knowledge.
