About the role

Freelance is a growing organization that supports its clients' purchasing and supply chain needs by sourcing quality products and services while keeping costs efficient and maintaining reliable vendor relationships. It is hiring a full-time, on-site Buyer in Ilorin to handle supplier selection, quotation review and price negotiation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers, request and review quotations, and negotiate pricing and terms
• Place and track purchase orders and maintain accurate transaction records
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking
• Work with operations, finance and other teams to understand purchasing needs, resolve vendor issues and ensure timely delivery
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to improve procurement processes

Required profile

• Prior experience in purchasing, supply chain or a related field is preferred
• Relevant education in business, supply chain management or a related discipline is an advantage
• Organized, able to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Supplier evaluation, negotiation and contract management
• Management of purchase orders, inventory and procurement documentation
• Basic office software (spreadsheets, word processing) and familiarity with procurement or ERP tools
• Analytical skills to interpret pricing, cost and market data
• Effective communication with vendors and internal teams
