Business Manager - Sales, Credit and Recovery

About the role

Generation Capital Limited is hiring a Business Manager in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The role leads sales, business development, credit management and loan recovery, and oversees the performance of the sales, credit and recovery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Sales and business development: develop and execute sales strategies, lead and motivate sales teams, identify new business and partnerships, and monitor sales performance.
• Business operations: oversee daily operations across sales, credit and recovery, set operational standards, prepare performance reports and recommend actions to management.
• Credit management: oversee credit appraisal, due diligence, loan documentation and disbursement, and monitor loan portfolio quality and delinquency.
• Loan recovery: lead recovery and collection activities, supervise recovery personnel and track collection performance.
• Team leadership: set targets, monitor KPIs, coach staff and promote accountability and teamwork.
• Reporting and compliance: analyse performance data, report accurately to management and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, business operations, credit management, loan recovery or financial services.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, including managing sales teams and overseeing credit and recovery operations.
• Experience in microfinance, consumer lending, SME financing or a similar environment is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of credit appraisal, loan portfolio monitoring, delinquency management and debt recovery.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business performance reporting.
• Leadership, negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills; ability to work independently.
