Business Development Manager Trainee

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is hiring a Business Development Manager Trainee in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The trainee supports the business development team in prospecting, lead generation and client engagement, while learning the company's products, pricing and sales processes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research potential clients and business opportunities, and generate leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking and referrals.
• Contact prospective clients to introduce the company's products and services, and follow up to understand their needs and move them through the sales process.
• Support the development and implementation of business development strategies and monitor targets, lead conversion rates and other performance indicators.
• Schedule client meetings, business visits, presentations and follow-up calls, and assist in preparing proposals, quotations and presentations.
• Maintain the customer database, sales pipeline and prospect records, and build relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Participate in client meetings and negotiations under the guidance of senior business development personnel, and support partnership proposals and sales reports.
• Work with marketing, operations and other teams, attend networking events and exhibitions, and provide regular updates to the supervisor.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, Management or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, customer service or business development; fresh graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence in cold calling and follow-ups, and willingness to learn, accept feedback and work towards sales targets.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and willingness to attend client meetings and business visits when required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of sales, marketing, lead generation and CRM.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email communication.
