Business Development Manager

About the role

Gloome Marine Consulting is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the marine and offshore markets. This full‑time, on‑site position in Port Harcourt will focus on generating new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and expanding the firm’s market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the marine and offshore sectors.
• Research target markets, prepare proposals and presentations, and coordinate meetings with prospective clients.
• Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation through contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with technical and consulting teams to align service offerings with client needs.
• Track performance against business targets and provide regular market feedback to leadership.
• Represent the company at industry events and networking activities to strengthen brand visibility.

Required profile

• Proven business development and sales capabilities, including lead generation, pipeline management, and negotiation.
• Experience in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement, preferably within consulting or marine‑related industries.
• Ability to conduct market research, analyse industry trends, and develop growth strategies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Marine Studies or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Comfort working on‑site in Port Harcourt and attending regular in‑person client meetings and events.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Experience using CRM or sales‑tracking software.
