Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will work on‑site in Abuja, driving new business opportunities and expanding Hygeia HMO’s market presence within the health insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new corporate and healthcare provider partnerships.
• Develop and execute sales strategies, prepare proposals and deliver presentations.
• Negotiate contracts and collaborate with internal teams to design tailored health insurance solutions.
• Monitor market trends, analyse competitor activity and provide data‑driven insights.
• Enhance brand visibility through networking, industry events and strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of sales/business development experience in the HMO or health insurance space.
• Residency in Abuja.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and partnership‑building abilities.
• Proven ability to conduct market research, analyse data and shape commercial strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Healthcare Management or related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
• Familiarity with the Nigerian healthcare and insurance regulatory environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM tools.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
