Business Development Manager

About the role

Daystar Power Group, a Pan‑African provider of solar and hybrid power solutions, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth across its operations in Nigeria and the wider region. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and shaping strategic plans while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research and analysis of potential clients, industries, and partnerships.
• Manage, grow, and diversify the sales pipeline to achieve set targets.
• Monitor technological trends in the local and global energy sector and advise management.
• Evaluate leads and tenders, and coordinate participation in relevant bids.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders for long‑term success.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, meetings, and industry events.
• Analyze market segments to drive profitability and support strategic decision‑making.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams to align efforts with corporate goals.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum five years of sales or business development experience in the renewable energy sector within Nigeria.
• Proven track record of closing large, complex B2B deals.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to understand project finance and P&L impact.
• Self‑motivated, hard‑working, and well‑organized with a focus on continuous improvement.
