Business Development Manager – Import/Export Payments

About the role

The Business Development Manager will focus on acquiring and growing import/export clients in Nigeria who need cross‑border payment and currency‑exchange services. This is a high‑value B2B position that emphasizes trust building, understanding funding requirements, and maintaining long‑term relationships with corporate customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop Nigerian importers with annual transaction volumes of at least RMB 5 million.
• Introduce XTransfer’s local payment and currency‑exchange solutions (Naira → USD & Naira → RMB) and assist clients in opening and using local payment accounts.
• Conduct regular market, client, and association visits to generate new business.
• Establish partnerships with customs agents, freight forwarders, logistics firms, and industry associations.
• Maintain long‑term client relationships and continuously follow up on client needs.
• Report market insights and client requirements to the Country Manager.

Required profile

• OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in business sales or business development, preferably in banking, cross‑border services, or related financial sectors.
• Confident, ambitious, goal‑oriented and able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong negotiation abilities and customer‑service awareness.
• Own transportation vehicle is a plus.
