Business Development Associate – Climate Tech

About the role
As a Business Development Associate you will drive the growth of Miri Air’s weather and air‑quality monitoring solutions across Nigeria and the wider African market. You will work closely with government agencies, manufacturers, carbon project developers and infrastructure operators to turn technical innovations into commercial opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across public and private sectors.
- Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline from prospecting to deal closure.
- Lead outbound outreach (email, calls, LinkedIn) and coordinate inbound lead follow‑ups.
- Prepare tailored proposals, pricing models and commercial offers.
- Support negotiations and contract execution with senior stakeholders.
- Develop strategic partnerships with ecosystem players such as climate fintechs and research institutions.
- Conduct market research to uncover new sectors and geographic expansion opportunities.
- Represent Miri Africa at industry events, conferences and stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate with product and technical teams to translate customer feedback into product improvements.
- Track KPIs including pipeline value, conversion rates and revenue targets while maintaining CRM hygiene.
Required profile
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales or enterprise account management.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience selling B2B products or services, preferably SaaS, climate tech, IoT or data‑driven solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to understand technical products and translate them into commercial value.
