Business Development and Partnerships Officer

About the role

The Business Development and Partnerships Officer will drive commercial growth for Emerging Hire by identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships and supporting international trade initiatives. Reporting to the Country Manager, the role combines market research, bid management and stakeholder engagement across public, private and development sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities across public, private and development sectors.
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline of commercial opportunities.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis and develop business development strategies.
• Lead preparation of proposals, EOIs, concept notes, grants and bids; coordinate end‑to‑end bid management.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships; represent the group at meetings, conferences and trade missions.
• Support trade, export, investment facilitation and market‑access initiatives; monitor trade policy and provide market intelligence.
• Collaborate with the Country Manager to drive commercial programmes and coordinate cross‑functional projects.
• Maintain client relationships, identify account growth opportunities and prepare pipeline reports and dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Trade, Marketing, International Relations or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development, partnerships or commercial strategy.
• Strong knowledge of international trade and Nigeria's business environment.
