Bus Driver (Coaster & BRT)

About the role

Medessy Enterprises Limited is hiring a full-time driver to operate its fleet of Coaster buses and BRT buses in Abeokuta and Ogun State. The driver follows company schedules and routes, drives both manual and automatic transmission buses, and keeps vehicles safe, clean and well maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Safely drive assigned Coaster or BRT buses according to company schedules, routes and operational instructions.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tyres, brakes, lights, engine oil, coolant, fuel or CNG levels and other essential components.
• Keep vehicles clean, presentable and in good working order, and comply with traffic laws, speed limits and company driving policies.
• Ensure passenger and road user safety, and report accidents, damage, breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately.
• Maintain accurate trip records, mileage, fuel or CNG consumption and inspection reports, and account for fuel or CNG supplied.
• Follow approved routes and schedules, get approval for changes, and cooperate with Fleet and Maintenance and other departments.
• Do not use company vehicles for personal purposes, safeguard keys and documents, and take part in driving training and refresher courses.

Required profile

• HND or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Nigerian driver's licence for the vehicle category, plus a valid LASDRI card and other certifications where required.
• Minimum 2-4 years of professional driving experience, preferably with commercial buses.
• Demonstrated experience driving Toyota Coaster buses and/or BRT buses.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Good knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving.
• Familiarity with Lagos roads and major routes; knowledge of other locations is an advantage.
• Basic vehicle inspection, fault identification and preventive maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to keep accurate vehicle and trip records, and good communication skills.
