Backend Engineer (JSON Schema) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in JSON Schema to help transform complex, unstructured documents into clean, reusable data models. This is a remote, hourly contract position where you will work closely with product and engineering teams to define robust data contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex documents and extract structured data points.
• Design and implement scalable JSON schemas with appropriate field types, validation rules, and logical relationships.
• Define API contracts to ensure seamless data integration across systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine data requirements and schema design.
• Document schema structures, field definitions, and usage guidelines.
• Promote best practices in data modeling, architecture, and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong experience in data modeling, schema design, and JSON schema development.
• Ability to translate unstructured data into structured models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote, distributed environment.
