Backend Engineer

About the role

Sproxil Nigeria Limited is looking for a motivated Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the server‑side components of our web and mobile platforms. You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑performance, secure services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and backend services supporting web and mobile applications.
• Build scalable, reliable, and secure systems using Node.js and cloud technologies.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement new features and improve existing ones.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and maintainable code following best practices.

Required profile

• 6 months to 2 years of experience in backend development (SIWES & NYSC applicants welcome).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js and Java.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and database design.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and Azure cloud services.
• Proficiency with Git and agile development methodologies.
• Good understanding of security and data‑protection practices.
