Aviation Safety Auditor

About the role

A full-time Aviation Safety Auditor position based in Lagos, Rivers and Abuja, assisting the Safety & Compliance Manager in managing and promoting the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensuring policies and procedures are fully implemented. The role works in a multi-disciplinary team to address safety and compliance issues.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and manage assigned internal or external audits to agreed timescales, recording concerns and findings with evidence of non-conformance and recommending solutions.
• Liaise with supervisory personnel to ensure corrective, preventative and improvement actions are implemented effectively and on time.
• Keep the Safety & Compliance Manager briefed on all aspects of safety and compliance performance.
• Carry out independent investigations as directed and monitor that actions and improvements are closed out.
• Provide specialist advice, identify opportunities for improvement and monitor industry best practice and regulatory changes.
• Maintain records of safety performance and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience with the National CAA, preferably in airworthiness matters in commercial air transport.
• Maintenance experience in Nigeria preferred; AMEL holder with type endorsement is an advantage.
• Prior maintenance and operation auditing experience preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, FAA and EASA regulations.
• Good knowledge of safety risk management and SMS management preferred.
• Knowledge of UAV/RPAS and its operating rules and regulations.
