Assistant Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

About the role

The Assistant, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) supports the M&E Officer in implementing the monitoring and evaluation work plan for IMC projects. The role involves collecting, entering, and analysing data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and to inform programme decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and adapt existing Global M&E guidelines, tools, and templates throughout the project cycle.
• Promote Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards within IMC and among beneficiaries.
• Use data collection tools to gather qualitative and quantitative data at facility and community levels.
• Support development of program databases using available technologies.
• Implement basic monitoring and evaluation concepts and systems in line with M&E activities.
• Carry out field‑level M&E activities such as post‑distribution monitoring, data quality audits, surveys, assessments, and operational research.
• Perform data entry into electronic databases and assist with data cleaning and quality checks.
• Support data analysis and the translation of tools and data as required.
• Ensure data are disaggregated by sex, age, disability status, and other relevant criteria.
• Conduct on‑site routine data quality audits at field sites.
• Implement probability and non‑probability sampling techniques when appropriate.
• Conduct qualitative data collection, review field data for errors, and correct incompatibilities.
• Assist with mobile data collection using smartphones or tablets and help develop mobile tools.
• Translate qualitative data between mission language and English.
