Assistant Factory Manager

About the role

Beecomas Food And Confectionaries Ltd is looking for an Assistant Factory Manager in Abuja to support the factory manager in running daily factory operations and production. The role covers production supervision, quality and hygiene compliance, reporting and supporting the manager in their absence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the factory manager in day-to-day management of operations and production, and supervise production staff to achieve production targets.
• Monitor production processes so products meet quality, safety and hygiene standards, and keep accurate production records, reports and inventory information.
• Help plan production, schedule it and allocate manpower, materials and equipment; monitor raw and packaging material use to minimise waste.
• Work with the maintenance team on equipment upkeep, identify bottlenecks and help implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety procedures, GMP and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Support staff training, performance monitoring, discipline and workforce development.
• Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams, monitor cleanliness and sanitation, and support continuous improvement.
• Prepare regular production updates and reports, and act as the factory manager's representative when needed.

Required profile

• HND in food science, food technology, industrial production, engineering, business administration or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in food, confectionery, FMCG or manufacturing operations; supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience in a regulated food-production environment is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills, good communication and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food and confectionery manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality control.
• Ability to monitor production data and prepare operational reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or relevant production-management software.
