About the role
The BBC Yoruba newsroom in Lagos is seeking a part‑time Assistant Editor to help shape and deliver high‑impact journalism across broadcast and network news platforms. This role offers the chance to work on exclusive stories, investigations and digital‑first content while collaborating with a dynamic editorial team.
Key responsibilities
- Commission, shape and deliver high‑impact original journalism, including exclusives, investigations, explainers and digital‑first content.
- Work closely with other Assistant Editors and the News Editor to identify shared editorial priorities.
- Coordinate coverage of cross‑service and cross‑border stories while minimizing duplication.
Required profile
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Yoruba.
